Government Regulation of Internet?

The government wants to regulate and in some instances start taxing blogs and other websites. Great! More government cuz you know it does such a good job regulating and taxing and dealing with oil spills and hurricanes…. yea, more government can’t wait for government run health care! But I digress.

Now I am sure that the government knows best and is doing what is best for us. I’m sure they are only looking out for our best interests and have no political agenda…. you know now that we’re in an era of “transparency” and “change we can believe in…”

Well, of course. Just like those in power felt about the printing press and the distribution of Scripture during the Dark Ages. Just like King George felt about Thomas Paine and his pamphlets. Raw statism on display. They detest what they can’t control, especially information. It’s also why they (the current political class) seem to be hell bent on destroying the private sector. It leaves them in control of goods and services. They become our masters.

Of course, this could all be construed as anecdotal evidence. ;o)
